Re: KBML PROCESS

Kevin put that very well!  Additionally note that requesting a temp license is a separate process.  Consult with KBML on what you need to do to request a temporary license.

Re: KBML PROCESS
As with obtainig privileges as a Health Care facility, the processing of applications vary.  The most important issue to remember is that the application can only be processed as quickly as the information provided by the applicant is adequate in order to obtain the necessary verifications & references.  It is also adviseable that the applicant contact those references/contacts that are being supplied on their application that an expedient response would be appreciated and speed up the process, whether this would be for a Medical License, or facility privileges.  Even at if all items are received in a short period of time, the process for granting privileges or granting license may vary & depend on many things and situations.  If there is a questionable area in a practitioner's application information and documentation, this may necessitate that the application be processed completely by the entity until it reaches the Board level and Temporary Privileges will not/cannot be granted.  Most applications whether facility or licensing require/allow at least a three-month processing period.  The return of information requested by the processing entity is crucial to the processing of the application, but the speed of the processing is rarely satisfacory to the applicant and in the case of licensure, rarely satisfactory to applicant or the facilities to which are being applied.

KBML PROCESS
There is some discussion right now as to the length of time it can take to obtain an MD/DO license from KBML, for people coming either from out of the state, or obtaining their initial license. I have found, and have had discussions with other people, that this process can easily take 6 months. Has anyone else seen this as well?
