Re: Is the Kaper requiered on all Telemedicine providers?
Our Credentials Manual requires all Medical Staff/AHP Staff practioners to go through the same process - they all are required to complete the Kaper application.
Thanks

Additionally, note your bylaws. If your process mentions KAPER1 specifically, you might want to have exceptions noted in case a surveyor makes issue with it. General terms should be used in your bylaws not to get caught in this “catch 22”.

Re: Is the Kaper requiered on all Telemedicine providers?
Remember that KAPER was put into place to standardize an application for KY providers. The issue with KAPER is that when providing an application for privileges to your facility, KAPER must be the app that you supply the applicant. That does not mean you cannot obtain your credentialing data by other means if it meets your needs, in this case, Nighthawk’s data. If you require more than what they provide, you may only obtain it using KAPER1. Hope that makes since.

Re: Is the Kaper requiered on all Telemedicine providers?
We have VCR. Our By-laws require that all telemedicine candidates are credentialed the same as all other candidates. We use Kaper form for this process. This can really be a huge credentialing task.

Re: Is the Kaper requiered on all Telemedicine providers?
We have always required our own credentialing forms (including the Kaper) for the group we contract with (VRC) and never had any issues. A streamlined consistent process is much easier to work with and more efficient as well.

Is the Kaper requiered on all Telemedicine providers?
We use a Nighthawk telemedicine group for radiology coverage at night. This entity is JACHO accredited and considers themselves a CVO. We have been advised to use their verifcation documents. We verify the KY license and the NPDB per provider.
Do we need to mandate the use of the KAPER application on these providers or can we accept the company's application?
